I was so excited when Jen called me and asked if I was available to photograph their whole family during their family reunion at Sundance! I absolutely love extended families sessions. I always leave the photo shoot feeling so energized from their family dynamics and all the sweet personalities. Their family wanted a lot of green in the background so we picked a field by Sundance that I knew would photograph well and give them the look they wanted.
Despite the hot July weather we were able to find a nice patch of shade to do their photos and get all of the different set ups that they wanted!
Whenever I do a bigger family groups I always bring an assistant with me to help get all the kids smiling and to be an extra set of eyes. My tween daughter, Ava loves coming with me and always gets the kids smiling. By the end of the night she has several new best friends and I do too!
If you have a big family reunion coming up, or just want some beautiful family pictures, the best time to do them in my opinion is in the Summer and Fall months in Utah. The weather is beautiful and everything is green and colorful. With every photo shoot booked, we offer a location consultation with you before every shoot to makes sure your outfits and location compliment the overall look. It is so important to me that you get everything you want at your session, especially while you have the whole family together!
